Summer Fun for the Toddlers/Preschoolers

I am so excited that it's finally warming up in the middle of the day, and I can now take my 1- and 3-year old sons to Holly Glen Park for the splash pool.  This is a great little park in a quiet neighborhood, north of Rosecrans and East of Aviation, West of the 405.

Open Tuesday through Saturday, 11am-3pm.  They close the pool before Labor Day (whenever the Wiseburn School District starts classes) so get there ASAP and don't miss this great weather!

Some tips:
-The earlier the better, if you go at 11am it's great and not crowded
-Saturdays are not too crowded
-They don't allow diapers in the pool.  Depending who is working, this is enforced strictly.
-Bring a picnic lunch or snacks
-There's a great playground too

Earth Day Celebration at SEA Lab Redondo Beach

I was at SEA Lab Redondo last week and noticed that they are having a great Earth Day Celebration, including a reusable bag giveaway (for swapping your plastic bags), a beach cleanup, and other fun activities. Here is the info:

Alternatively, you could always have your own beach cleanup!  There is plenty of beach in the South Bay that could use a little TLC :)
